The period of this internship is at least 3 months. It is realized in a laboratory and it must be for the engineer students the opportunity to work for solving a problem of biomedical engineering using technical knowledge and scientific acquired during the academic training. It may also enable them to complete their knowledge and expertise.
This Research and Development internship is realized individually.
It takes place in a research laboratory, a department of health or a company of the biomedical sector, in France or abroad.
Typically, an internship corresponds to a topic of research and development if it is realized in a company or to a subject in one of the themes of the research laboratory. The studied problem should be in relation to the biomedical field.

At the end of schooling, this internship allows engineer student to perform an activity of junior engineer in a manufacturing company related to the biomedical sector.
Its aim is to temporarily immerse the student in the professional workplace in order to give him experience the realities of working in the company and to present a first image of the services that will be expected of him as engineer. It also allows to complete the human, scientific and technical training.
This essential experience must meet key objectives which the school can not provide :
- discover an real system of design and production
- apply knowledge in solving practical problems in complying with constraints perfectly defined and implementing the tools of project management
- discover and validate methods of work
- master and integrate modes of group work and communication tools.
So this activity of junior engineer effectively contributes to the formation of the engineer by performing an essential complement to academic training. Each student must be fully aware of the issues that are associated with the success of such an experiment.
The activity of the trainee in the company will consist mainly to the completion of a particular task as similar as possible to that which would be entrusted to a junior engineer.
It is desirable that the scientific and technical knowledge base required to perform the work placement are mostly those that are transmitted through the teachings.
The mission is proposed by an engineer of the company in accordance with the manager of industrial internships. The internship is administratively validated by a training agreement and can be realized in France or abroad.
